The European Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology (EJOST) aims to publish high quality orthopaedic scientific work, relevant to the daily clinical work of our readers, that has the potential to change the way they practice. Our expert Editorial Board ensures through a robust peer-review process to deliver a product that meets high scientific standards and is published in a timely fashion thanks to a proactive screening process. The papers that we publish target a wide array of subjects and sub-specialty within orthopaedics and are suited for trainees and specialists alike. We aim to access readers from low and middle income countries as much as readers from better resourced areas. Our push towards diversity of readership is clearly reflected in our Editorial Board with all sub specialties of orthopaedics represented through Deputy Editors from most continents. The European Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology covers topics and keywords that include orthopaedic trauma, fracture care, sports medicine, arthroscopy, adult reconstruction (hip and knees), pediatric orthopaedics, spine surgery (both adult and pediatric, degenerative and deformity), foot and ankle surgery, bone tumors, shoulder and elbow surgery, hand and microvascular surgery, basic science and biomechanics related to specific orthopaedic topics and bone infection. Some of the emerging areas that our journal has focused on includes areas related to orthopaedics in the field of robotics, covid pandemic, and nano molecular biology. Our journal remains a practical clinical journal and as such we encourage papers that have the ability to change the ways our readers practice. We do consider basic science articles although the rejection rate of those is high because not necessarily within our scope. .
